If you’re into networking, Nmap is something you’ll want to know pretty well - It’s the ultimate network scanner, going far beyond typical host discovery. Used by network admins, hackers, John McClanes’ enemies and even Trinity - it will certainly keep a geek busy when IRC has gone quiet (note: Don’t use it to scan IRC buddies, they probably know it just as well as you!)
